The Bronx

This classic cocktail was created by Johnnie Solon, although some say Joseph Sormani should be credited with the original recipe in the early 1900s while bartending at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel. This cocktail is a variation on a Martini that includes orange juice and its very easy to make and super delicious.
Ingredients
- 50ml dry gin
- 25ml semi-sweet vermouth
- 25ml dry vermouth
- 25ml freshly squeezed orange juice
- ice
- strip of orange peel, to garnish
Method
- Tip the gin, both vermouths, the orange juice and a large handful of ice into a cocktail shaker. Shake hard until the outside of the shaker feels very cold, then double strain the drink into a coupe or martini glass.
- Twist the strip of orange peel over the cocktail to express the oils, then drop it into the drink, or discard it if you prefer.
